Elementary 2020–

The whole of artworks Elementary is linked to two places, one a building and its surroundings in Paris and the other a natural environment in Finland. With regard to Paris her residency there has often been Cité Internationale des Arts. The works of art bring together two different environments.

The artworks discuss as simply expressed: How do different elementary worlds befall in the experience of the environmental? Places are spaces of being, thus they appear as elementary worlds. Elementarity is all-encompassing. A building, while being an interior space bounded by its walls, is also a space outside of it, an exterior space. Even if one cannot see inside the house, one is able however to imagine its interiority. The external space of the house, in turn, construes its surroundings and creates a sense of being in a particular place for the building.
